Stained Concrete Craft Room Floor Alternative

by Debra on Friday, June 26, 2009

Staned Concrete Floor Alternative I love the look of stained concrete floors. The look is natural and textured. Always Unique!

My new craft room needed a floor that would be easy to clean and hide the eventual stains and spills. (I am THAT Painter Lady after all :)

Even scrap booking can make a mess.

But… I want a floor that isn’t as “cold and hard” as concrete would be.

I found the perfect stained concrete craft room floor alternative! It’s Vinyl!

Hard to believe but the picture you are looking at is vinyl flooring… I love it.

It looks great with the paint color choice from Valspar Paint – Moose Mousse. (I didn’t plan that)

vinyl flooring looks like concreteThe flooring has a touch of gray/blue color thrown about… so I’m going to take a swatch to the counter guy and have my new craft room counters matched.

I will be going for a pale – very pale – blue /gray counter top color. The room colors for a craft room should be as neutral as possible. Colors reflect onto white surfaces – so if you are painting on white canvas, wall colors can change the colorations on the canvas.

Because this room should stay a bedroom for eventual resale… I know that I may have to carpet the room again.

But – if I carpet now, I will just have to re-carpet anyway… I’m not a neat artist!

Installed New Shabby Chic Ceiling Fan in Craft Room

shabby chic ceiling fan What is it about the rubbed off look of chippy paint that attracts me? My assistant found this one on LampsPlus.com and I loved it.

Of course she wanted to order it with the pink crystal light kit… as if I needed to have the color pink back in this room. No Way!

We had the Shabby Chic Ceiling Fan shipped from LampsPlus.com – My new favorite lamp shopping resourse. They have Free Shipping!
