I ran across this catalog of Vintage Vinyl Flooring Patterns from the 1960’s – Congoleum brand:

The testimonial on the front cover reads:

For more than a decade America’s greatest inlaid vinyl line, achieves a new high in dollar value with AMERICANA — the luxury vinyl with the budget price. Here is subtle, fashion-right color blending, superb styling and supreme wear-ability — all combined in the most advanced inlaid vinyl floor covering available today.

And AMERICANA’S new look goes clear through to the restfully quiet and comfortable clear felt backing. No matter what the traffic — or where — the decoration remains true and consistent for the life of the pattern. With a super smooth sateen gloss finish that laughs at spills and dirt, plus extra resistance to scratches and indentation, AMERICANA is truly a homemaker’s dream come true.

Some of my favorite examples of 1960’s style vintage vinyl floor tile:

These vintage vinyl flooring patterns are sooo “Jetson’s” to me… but they do look delish. I would love to use one of these patterns as a bathroom countertop. Hmmmm – wonder if it’s available?
